The short answer

Port Grand is a harbour-side food and leisure strip on the Native Jetty Bridge over China Creek, opposite the PNSC building at West Wharf, Karachi. As of October 2026 it opens at 5 pm daily and closes at midnight from Monday to Thursday and at 1 am from Friday to Sunday. Port Grand has not published its entry price; two 2026 guides put the pass at PKR 1,000 with PKR 500 returned as a voucher.

Where is Port Grand?

Port Grand is a food and leisure strip built along the Native Jetty Bridge, the 19th-century bridge that crosses the western end of China Creek between the Karachi Port Trust area and Keamari. Its listed address is Port Grand Food Street, opposite the PNSC building at West Wharf, off M.T. Khan Road near the Beach Luxury Hotel.

Port Grand opened on 28 May 2011 as a joint project of the Karachi Port Trust and a private company, Grand Leisure Corporation. It runs about 305 m along the bridge and covers about 19,000 square metres, with kiosks, restaurants and views over the harbour and the shipyard.

How to get to Port Grand from Clifton and DHA

From Clifton, take 26th Street to Mai Kolachi Bypass and continue onto M.T. Khan Road; a 2026 guide puts the drive at 25 to 35 minutes. From DHA, take Khayaban-e-Ittehad to Sunset Boulevard, join Mai Kolachi Bypass and continue onto M.T. Khan Road, about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. The early-evening rush is the slowest time on this route.

A 2026 guide places the car park in Lalazar, next to the Beach Luxury Hotel and a short walk from the entrance. No current parking charge has been published, and ride-hailing is the easier choice on busy weekend nights.

Port Grand timings

Port Grand’s official Instagram lists its hours as 5 pm to midnight from Monday to Thursday and 5 pm to 1 am from Friday to Sunday, as of October 2026. Some restaurants also open for breakfast on Sunday, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Other directory sites give 4 pm or 6 pm openings, so go by the official hours. A 2023 Zameen guide noted that hours change on public holidays and event nights.

Port Grand ticket price

Entry to Port Grand is by a regular entry pass bought at the main counter, and Port Grand has not published the price. Two guides updated in September and October 2026 put the pass at PKR 1,000 a person, with PKR 500 returned as a voucher to spend on food and rides inside. One of them also reports a PKR 500 pass with no voucher, and calls neither figure confirmed.

Guides in 2023 listed the ticket at PKR 300, with part of it redeemable, so the price has changed more than once.

Free entry and vouchers at Port Grand

One 2026 guide says children under two and adults over 65 enter free; older guides gave different age limits. On Ladies Tuesday, women enter free but must buy a PKR 500 voucher to spend inside, according to Port Grand’s Instagram in September 2026, and families and children are admitted that night as well.

Check that a restaurant accepts the voucher before you order, because a 2026 guide reports that acceptance has varied between outlets.

What to do at Port Grand

Port Grand has restaurants, street food and snack stalls, clothing stalls, and rides and play areas for children. Boat rides along China Creek pass the mangroves planted along the water.

Port Grand’s Facebook poster for 25 October 2026 named Babujee’s, the only restaurant an official post confirms as trading in 2026. A 2023 guide also listed The Balcony, Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar, Gardenia, City Bistro, Afridi Inn and Rashid Seafood, and no 2026 source confirms each of those is still open.

Port Grand runs weekly events with live performances, and event nights may need a separate pass.

Is Port Grand good for families?

Port Grand admits children every day, and its replies to visitors in 2026 confirm families can come on Ladies Tuesday too. Explore Pakistan calls Port Grand good for a family evening but not a budget option. At its reported PKR 1,000 a person, a family of four would pay about PKR 4,000 at the gate and get about PKR 2,000 back as vouchers.

Best time to visit Port Grand

The best time to visit Port Grand is after sunset, when the harbour lights come on and the day’s heat has eased. Weeknights are quieter than weekends, and winter evenings are the most comfortable for sitting outside on the bridge.

What to know before going to Port Grand

Ask at the counter what the voucher covers and which outlets take it. Event nights can carry a separate pass at a different price, and a 2026 guide advises arriving early on weekend evenings, when the Lalazar car park fills, or coming by ride-hailing.

Living by Karachi’s seafront

For homes on the open sea, families already live in Emaar Oceanfront‘s completed towers on the DHA Phase 8 seafront, and HMR Waterfront‘s first tower is due for handover in June 2027. Both are on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue near Do Darya, on a coastal belt HMR’s sales team puts at 108 acres.
