What and where is DHA Phase 8?

DHA Phase 8 is the coastal phase of the Defence Housing Authority in Karachi, run from DHA’s Phase VIII directorate on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue. DHA gives its size as 4,151 acres of the 8,797 acres it manages across the city, and calls it the largest and fastest-growing phase.

DHA describes Phase 8 as 45% of DHA Karachi. Its own two figures work out at 47%, so treat both numbers as approximate.

DHA Phase 8 sectors

DHA divides Phase 8 into six sectors: A, B, C, D, E and E8. DHA reports that infrastructure is complete in all six and that sectors A and B are open for construction, with 268 km of roads across the phase.

Developers and listing sites often say “Zone” where DHA says “Sector”. HMR Waterfront’s towers, for example, give their address as Zone D, Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue.

Waterfront projects in DHA Phase 8

DHA lists three large projects under way in Phase 8, plus one it has completed itself.

Creek Vistas, DHA’s own apartments

Creek Vistas is DHA’s completed apartment project in Phase 8, at Khayaban-e-Shaheen and 16th Street, and the first residential phase of what DHA calls Creek City. Its 16 acres hold 12 towers of 16 floors each, with 56 apartments and 4 penthouses per tower, 720 units in all.

Only about a quarter of the site is built on, and the rest is water, gardens and a clubhouse with a pool, gym, snooker room and community hall. The towers, designed by Meinhardt, look over Karachi Creek, the Arabian Sea and the DHA golf course.

The Arkadians

DHA lists The Arkadians as a current project by AKD Group, with residential towers and office enclaves along Karachi Creek, overlooking the DHA golf course. The architects EA describe it as 13 residential towers and six office enclaves on about 43 acres, for Creek Developers, and Pakistani press reports in 2026 have described it as upcoming. Its timeline is not published by the developer, so check the current status before considering a purchase.

Places along the DHA Phase 8 coast

Several of Karachi’s best-known seafront places are in DHA Phase 8. Do Darya, the row of seafront restaurants, is on Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue, which many Karachiites still call Sea View Road. Creek Park runs along Korangi Creek with about a kilometre of paths, and DHA’s clubs include the Creek Club, the Country and Golf Club, the Marina Club and the Beach View Club.
